We have chosen to retire Coco from competition as she is getting on now (17 years old) and as she competes in Advanced classes in both Dressage and Show Jumping we don't want to strain her little legs too much and she can only actually jump so high! She has also been a little on the naughty side, refusing jumps in the jump ring to planting or buggering off in the dressage ring, we had her checked over by our vet too as she has been getting a little stiff and sore and has been lame on occasions and she does have arthritis so we decided to opt for a quieter life without putting too much straight on her joints . However this didn't strop her dragging Jenna all over the place on the way to the retirement field. Even though she won't be actively competing you may see her on odd occasions around the farm and maybe a gentle stroll every now and then! We would like to take a moment to honor Coco as she has gained many points and earnings for us whilst on Cavallo. She has earned 212 points in Dressage and 114 in Show Jumping bring that to a total of 358 points with an added 32 in Halter. She's earned us $6,495 too as well of course the most important teaching both my children to ride (Theo & Jenna) and keeping them safe in the ring! Prior to competing on Cavallo Coco competed on another forum and gained 167 points across DR & SJ.
